The second of 2 solo EPs Jon promised to release within the year, Husk offers a more abrasive side to his solo sound. Recorded from December 2022 to July 2023 (alongside the Stitch EP). With a purposeful shift in direction and sound, Jon set to make an EP that was unsettling but drum and beat centric to its core. The opener White Soles kicks in the door with fuzzed out guitars, slamming drum hits, and solid steady bass lines - a prime example of how much noise just 3 instruments can create. Formulation brings together familiar elements of Jon's work with Twilight Complex and blends them with tight, fuzzy synths and drums to create a one of a kind rave. The title track serves as a self indulgent sound and rhythm collage - an idea Jon has wanted to execute for a while but felt most appropriate on this release. Closing with Sum Seized - a track that can sound audibly assaulting at first, but once familiar, sits as a truly one of a kind sound piece in Jons solo discography.
